Regional coastal cooperation (RKS) Blekinge, Kalmar and Gotland is a forum for exchanging knowledge and experience on how to plan and manage coastal areas. RKS main aim is to develop and disseminate knowledge and thereby build capacity to adapt our coasts to a changing climate. RKS works towards this aim by enabling dialogue between different actors and by running joint projects.

Blekinge, Kalmar and Gotland’s coastal areas are particularly vulnerable to coastal erosion and flooding, events that are likely to be exacerbated in a changing climate.

RKS was established in September 2023 and includes the three county administrative boards and all coastal municipalities in Blekinge, Kalmar and Gotland counties, as well as the Swedish Geotechnical Institute (SGI) and the Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU).
